Ethics and Policy

The Ishan Law Journal (ILJ) is committed to promoting authentic, ethical, and high-quality research in law and allied disciplines. The Journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and expects all contributors to adhere to honesty, transparency, and accountability in their scholarly work.

All authors submitting manuscripts to ILJ must read and understand this Ethics Policy before submission. Any instance of unethical behavior—such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or duplicate submission—will lead to rejection of the manuscript and may result in future restrictions on submission.

Ethical Duties of Authors

Authors:

Originality and Acknowledgement

All submitted work must be original and properly acknowledge the intellectual contributions of others. Plagiarism or self-plagiarism, including re-submission of substantially similar content to multiple journals, is strictly prohibited.

Authorship and Correspondence

Accurate details of all authors and their institutional affiliations must be provided. One author shall act as the corresponding author and handle all communications regarding the manuscript, including questions related to originality or data sources.

Duplicate Submissions

Manuscripts submitted to ILJ must not be under consideration by any other journal or publisher at the same time.

Copyright Transfer

Upon acceptance, authors are required to submit a duly signed Copyright Transfer Form, assigning publication rights to the Ishan Law Journal.

Integrity and Research Accuracy

Authors must present truthful, evidence-based findings and interpretations. Fabrication, falsification, or selective omission of data is unacceptable.

Cooperation and Corrections

Authors must cooperate with editors and reviewers, providing additional information or data when requested. If significant errors are discovered after publication, authors are expected to promptly notify the editorial office for necessary corrections or retractions.

Ethical Compliance

For studies involving human participants, surveys, or sensitive data, authors must confirm that ethical approval was obtained from the relevant authority or institution and clearly mention this in the manuscript.

Permissions for Third-Party Content

Authors must secure permissions for any reproduced material such as figures, tables, or case excerpts and provide proof of authorization at the time of submission.

Ethical Duties of Editors

Editors of ILJ shall:

Maintain fairness, transparency, and academic integrity in the editorial process.
